can complete and submit the following form and must provide an email address to
be used with the DIRECT ATHLETICS MEET ENTRY SYSTEM.
RETURNING FALL SESSION SWIMMERS should update their personal
information, especially the email address that they will
use for the DIRECT ATHLETICS MEET
ENTRY SYSTEM.
The coaches will be available at the Grosse Pointe North
Pool on Monday, December 14th to accept
payments and signed

*When there is a scheduled high school
swim meet on Tuesday or Thursday,

practice times will be from
The GPPS requests that parents make sure swim groups
are in session before leaving children at the pool. Children should be
dropped off no earlier than 15 min. before
practice begins and picked up no later than 15 minutes after practice ends.
Swimmers should bring a lock for his/her use in the locker
room. Locks must be removed after each
practice. Swimmers
also have the option of leaving their sport bags on the pool
deck during practice. The

PRACTICES
ARE CLOSED TO ALL PARENTS AND SPECTATORS AT THE GROSSE POINTE NORTH POOL.
As always, coaches are available before and after
practice.
THE PA COACHING STAFF WILL ASSIGN SWIMMERS TO THE APPROPRIATE TRAINING GROUP
1. INTENSIVE TRAINING GROUPS * 12/14/09 – 3/12/10
Mon & Wed 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tues & Thurs 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday 4:45-6:15 PM Saturday 7:30 – 9:30 AM SESSION FEE $525.00
Description: this group is designed for swimmers who desire the necessary aerobic and technical skills to achieve success at the state level and beyond. Swimmers will receive intense aerobic training as well as stroke technique and corrections in a workout context. In order to fully benefit from the level of training offered in this group, all swimmers should attend a minimum of 4 practices per week.
In addition, all swimmers in this group should participate in appropriately scheduled swim meets.
2. HIGH SCHOOL PREP GROUP 12/14/09 – 3/12/10
Tuesday/Thursday 5:00-7:00 PM Friday 4:45-6:15 PM SESSION FEE: $350.00
Description: This group is designed for swimmers ages 12-18. This group will prepare each swimmer for his/her upcoming high school season or will provide aerobic maintenance after his/her high school season is complete. Swimmers in this group will receive aerobic training as well as stroke technique and corrections in a workout context. Swimmers in this group are encouraged to participate in scheduled team swim meets.
3 RED TRAINING GROUP 12/14/09 – 3/12/10
Mon & Wed 6:00 – 7:30 PM Tues & Thurs 5:00 – 7:00 PM* Friday 4:45-6:15 PM Saturday 7:30 – 9:30 AM SESSION FEE $450.00
Description: This group is designed for swimmers (8th grade and below) ready to make the transition from Junior Group to a higher level of training. Focus will be on continued stroke refinement and aerobic base development at a higher level. Membership in this group is at the discretion of the coaching staff based on performance and work habits. In order to fully benefit from the level of training offered in this group, all swimmers should attend a minimum of 4 practice per week and attend appropriately scheduled competitions. Swimmers in this group are encouraged to participate in scheduled team swim meets. *Nights when Grosse Pointe North has a home swim meet, the Red Group practice will be moved to 3:30 - 5:00 or cancelled. Some adjustment may also be made to practices on the nights of away meets for the high school swim team.
4. JUNIOR
12/14/09 – 3/12/10 or
appropriate Championship meet
Monday/Wednesday 5:00-6:30 PM Friday 4:45-5:45 PM Saturday 9:30 – 11:00 AM SESSION FEE: $325.00
Description: This group is designed for young swimmers who are able to swim all four competitive strokes and who desire to develop the necessary skills and aerobic training to achieve personal success. Swimmers will be provided with a positive training atmosphere where they will receive instruction on stroke technique as well as aerobic training. In order to fully benefit from the instruction and training offered by this group, all swimmers should attend a minimum of 3 practices per week. All swimmers must have coaches’ recommendation for this group. ln addition, all swimmers in this group should participate in appropriate scheduled team swim meets.
5. BLUE GROUP 12/14/09 – 3/12/10 or appropriate Championship meet
